Out of all the places the town offered for socialization, Starlit was probably David's favorite place to hang out. It was the party scene - his favorite. And it didn't hurt that a guy his age could get in without much trouble. A fake ID was all it took, and boy did David invest.
He had somehow managed to talk Joe into going with him. "But it's not fun without a friend..." he had whined to him earlier that day. And throughout the day, David had dropped hints about wanting to go. Finally, his friend had caught on.
"I keep telling you. It's not so bad," David was telling him now as they entered the club. He offered a smile as the two of them made their way to a section with chairs and a table. He took a seat before looking at Joe. "You should really come out more. You'd love it, I believe."

Joe had never really been into the club scene, mostly because he didn’t drink. That and though he was a generally happy person, clubs were just against what he found enjoyable. However, David had to be his best friend, and David loved to party. Not really caring how wasted he got, because he knew Joe would be there. His designated driver, all the time, every single time. But it was a role, Joe took, after all he couldn’t deal with the death of his best friend. Joe shadowed David into the familiar building, ahh yes they’d been going here since they were 16, 17 possibly? The memory was a bit fuzzy, but Joe knew that this was not their first time here. “ Hey Marcos,” he said, greeting the bouncer, who nodded in response. He slipped into the door, just before the door could shut. Proving once again that he was quite possibly too skinny, and that his muscles, which showed clearly through his shirt, meant nothing. “ I’ll be back in a sec David.” Joe said, as he left David for a moment, to walk over of all places the bar. He sat down for a moment on a stool, which just happened to be VERY uncomfortable. The bartender was taking his sweet time to get over here. He was new, Joe noted, as he didn’t recognize him. This was good, because it would have been awkward to order an alcoholic beverage from Sarah, or Kaile. Finally the newbie got over to him and asked: “ Hello what can I get you today? The voice was familiar, vaguely. Joe thought that he had heard him before, but wasn’t sure. “ A danger please,” he said, remembering it from a website he’d visited. If he recalled right then he was about to get a bottle of cold beer, and one dl of vodka. They could walk if he got wasted, hopefully that wouldn’t occur. But it was very much a possibility. When his drink arrived, he paid the bartender, and walked back over to their usual corner, or the corner furthest back, with the comfy seats, and the curtain. It was where they had always sat, well Joe had sat, David well he enjoyed the club. The glass was cold in his hand, and he noticed that David was already off dancing with some girls. David’s signature smile was plastered across his face. Joe sniggered as he carefully lowered himself down. Not really want to spill his drink. Not only would it ruin the moment, and his clothes, but also his first taste of true freedom. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'M COMING DOWN. BRING ME UP. take it off. let's just touch. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● The dancing had only been something to do while Joe was gone. This had equaled out to be about three songs, and...multiple girls. Hey, it was fair game here.
Seeing that Joe was back, he raised a finger up, signaling that he needed a few minutes. Time for a drink. David made his way to the bar, taken by surprise when he saw that it was a new bartender tonight.
He ordered a simple beer, and told him to take his time. Although he liked the parties, the alcohol, et cetera, David wasn't one to get completely hammered within the first couple drinks. He looked around the area, seeing who all was there, and if he recognized anyone. Then he summed it up: the only person here he knew was Joe, and that was because David had dragged him there.
"Thanks, man," David told the bartender, taking his beer and going to sit with Joe. He raised an eyebrow when he saw what Joe held. "Dude. I thought you weren't that into alcohol?"

Okay so he had noticed. Not like he hadn’t expected it, but he had hoped that he wouldn’t bring it up. After all, did Joe ever comment on his excessive, partying? Okay, so he had, but only once, or five hundred times. Joe looked over at David as he stood there, eyebrow arched. It was a look of true confusion, and somewhat worry. Because you know it’s everyday that you start drinking, after vowing you never would. he thought, laughing at it. He took in a few breathes, trying to think of answer that could answer the question, but not give everything away entirely. Because this drink wasn’t really at ransom, just a depressed urge. “ Well David, you would be very surprised as to what I’m into,” was how he answered it first, but then he changed his mind. “ I’m into alcohol, but never could drink it with you the human keg, we both can’t be hammered. Now, I can, seeing as the house is so close. We can walk.” Joe sat back, taking a sip of his drink. Waiting to see how David would respond to this. Just don’t get drunk Joe, you might let something slip…., his conscious told, or rather warned him. And it was right, David and Joe were close, but not close enough to know his dirty little secret. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'M COMING DOWN. BRING ME UP. take it off. let's just touch. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● David just looked at his friend, a smile slowly growing on his face. It was about time the Jonas boy loosened up a little. He took a drink from the beer he held, eyebrow raised.
"I am not a human keg," he protested now, although he had to admit -- he did drink a lot more than was entirely necessary for his health."You just don't drink enough. Therefore, I only seem like one." Satisfied with this statement, he nodded once, taking another drink. This was exactly what he had been looking for -- the kind of night where they could just loosen up and have fun, neither one of them worrying about the other too much.
"I'm just kidding, man," David informed him now, leaning back in the chair. "But in all seriousness, I'm so fucking proud of you right now. You don't even know." He shook his head enthusiastically, watching Joe. He had never, in all this time of friendship, even witnessed him drunk. Then again, like Joe had said, they both couldn't be hammered. "So proud."

“ But in all seriousness, I’m so fucking proud of you right now. You don’t even know ” David had said. It was a rather odd statement. Was he proud that he was drinking, or that he was there with him? The former made more sense, as Joe was always there with him. Joe had seen every alcohol related mess. From the first time David got drunk, to the bar fight that Joe had had to break up. But never had he said he was proud. “ You’re proud of me?” He asked, taking a another sip of his drink. It had a weird flavor, one he wasn’t used to obviously, but it was growing on him. Joe looked around, setting his drink on the small table to his right, as he looked at David. Curious as to what he would say, he wasn’t attacking him, so that shouldn’t matter. Yeah, but curiosity killed the cat. The thought snuck up on him, giving no warning. He knew that David wasn’t about to kill him. That was a fact, but it was merely a figure of speech. Not a particularly pleasant one, but it worked. “ Never mind, I really don’t need to know.” He took it back, out of superstition. And know he was acting odd. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
